Land Acknowledgement Statement

The Fraser lab recognizes that the University of California San Francisco sits on the unceded land of the Ramaytush Ohlone (pronounced Rah-mah-tush O-lone-ee) peoples, the original inhabitants of the San Francisco Peninsula. As settlers on this land, we want to recognize the historic, and ongoing, discrimination and violence inflicted upon Indigenous people in North America. Please read our full statement.

Directions to the Fraser Lab

The Mission Bay Campus can be reached:

• Public Transportation:

• Option 1: Exit BART at the 16th St Station and wait for the free UCSF Red shuttle (weekdays only) that stops directly outside what was once a Burger King and now has lovely graffiti.
• Option 2: Exit BART at the 16th St Station and take the 22 Muni Bus towards Mission Bay. Exit at 16th and 4th.
• Option 3: Exit BART at the Powell St. Station and walk to the Union Square/Market St. MUNI station and then take the MUNI T-line inbound to Sunnydale. Exit at the UCSF/Chase Center stop on 3rd Street.
• Option 4: Exit Caltrain and then walk along 4th St for about 15 minutes until arriving at UCSF Mission Bay.
• Option 5: There are many different UCSF Shuttle routes that connect to the Mission Bay campus from various parts of the city (weekdays only).

• Car:

• We are at 600 16th Street, between Owens St. and 4th St. There are three UCSF parking garages - UCSF Medical Center, UCSF Community Center, and UCSF Third Street. Please park in one of the garages and not in the surface lots.
• If you are being dropped off (by a rideshare service), use 1675 Owens St, San Francisco, CA 94158 as the destination address. There is convenient parking circle (red star on map below) for drop-off.

Once on campus, proceed to Genentech Hall:

1. You will have to enter through Genentech Hall from the Koret Quad side (Red arrow on the map below).
2. Sign in at security for a meeting with Dr. James Fraser (Office - Genentech Hall S472E).
3. Take the elevator or staircase to the 4th floor.
4. Walk west down the hall. The large windows facing the courtyard will be on your right. If the floor color changes to grey, you have gone the wrong way and are now in Byers Hall. Turn around and walk back towards Genentech Hall.
5. Keep walking until you are in a full hallway (past the large chandellier to your right in the atrium) and keep walking down the hall.
6. You will encounter a 4 way intersection. Make a left (south) and head towards the S401-484 area.
   • If you encounter windows overlooking 16th St. on your left you have gone too far!
7. Down the hall, you should find a break room. James’s office is through the clear doors straight ahead. The Fraser lab is on the right.
